Notes to historicize Eugenics from a critical perspective

Abstract
Eugenics, the "science of the good race" according to its creator, Francis Galton, has been a theoretical construct with vast implications in the Western world that put in correspondence the valuation of the individual body and the social body. His organicist perspective subjected to the consideration of the consequences that reproduction brought with it crossed, from the beginning, political culture, scientific culture, and religion. Thinking historically about the impact of eugenics entails, then, the task of stopping at its spheres of interaction to recognize what bothers traditional characterizations. In this sense, taking it out of the confinement in a determined space and time, from a self-absorbed way of understanding it and/or from the labile adaptations to interpretative conveniences, we will seek here to present some ideas for a critical approach to Eugenics.
